They have been vigorously trained to use a doggie door, however they can adapt to consistent regular times outside as well.

Socialization is an important aspect of our puppies. They are exposed to neighborhood children and adults at an early age. We try to spend three or four hours a day with them playing, or watching television as soon as they are old enough. This is usually done when they are four to five weeks old.

Obedience school is a great way to train your new puppy. Shelties yearn for a lot of your time and attention, and in exchange they will give their unconditional Love and Devotion. A good place to get more information is the Puppy Instruction Manual.

SHELTIES EMBRACE OBEDIENCE
They Aim to Please

The Sheltie is, arguably, the easiest breed to train. Shelties are in their glory when they are able to demonstrate a behavior that pleases their owner.

At eight weeks when we release our charges to their new owners, they are almost (but not quite) house broken. They are still babies you know.
