With the Puppies health in mind, we keep them isolated during their first eight weeks. The reason for these precautions is that they are susceptible to all sorts of afflictions before they are fully protected by a complete series of 7-in-1 shots.

As they only have their first in the series of three when they leave us, it's recommended that they remain isolated until they are protected with the Full Series of three 7-in-1 Shots, which should be completed at sixteen weeks.

The "rear dew claws", which are located about ankle height on the back legs, are surgically removed at birth. They are of no practical use, and this improves the appearance of the dog. In addition, these claws can become painfully entangled in clothing, and cause damage to furniture.

We start the puppy with their First 7-in-1 shot, which is administered at eight weeks, before delivery. Two additional shots are required to complete the series, and fully protect the puppy. These should be administered by your veterinarian at twelve, and sixteen weeks.

THE HEALTH OF OUR SHELTIES
Is Taken Seriously

If any of our Shelties become ill, there are three vets that we normally use. In addition, we have two Animal Hospitals nearby should any emergency arise.
